SNSD sold over 100,000 copies for each of their six Korean releases, making them the first female group in the South Korean music industry to do so in over six years.
T-ara
T-ara have been awarded with the “Top Pop Artists” award at the Billboard Japan Music Awards 2011. They sold 50,000 copies in their first week for “Bo Peep Bo Peep” and also become the first foreign group and first female artist(s) to reach first place with their debut single.
Wonder Girls
Their song charted at number seventy-six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making the Wonder Girls the first South Korean group to enter the chart.
2NE1
Their follow-up singles, such as "Go Away", "Lonely" and "I Am The Best" were similarly successful, with "I Am the Best" winning 2NE1 their second "Song of the Year" award in 2011.
KaRa
They achieved their first number one single in Japan with "Jet Coaster Love", making them the first foreign female group since the creation of the Oricon to rank number one in the first week of release and also the first foreign female group in thirty years to do so.
AKB48
The group has 67 members, ranging in age from early teens to mid-20s.With 15,130,000 CD single sales by Jun 29, 2012 according to Music Station, AKB48 holds the record for most singles sold in Japan by a female group.
